Dear Paov,
The documentary Coextinction won several awards following its premiere at the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2021, including the Rob Stewart Eco Warrior Award and People’s Choice Award at Planet Focus. It was also nominated in the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards for Best Cinematography in a Feature Length Documentary.
We are so pleased to host its inaugural screening in Victoria, BC on September 21 at the Vic Theatre.
Follow the stunning journey of the last 74 Southern Resident killer whales and learn how the health of this iconic species is inextricably linked to the health of our coast. This film makes a clear case for a coordinated approach to ecosystem-based coastal management.
Doors open at 6:30pm and the event begins at 7pm. Standard admission is $5, with a supporter rate and pay-what-you-can options available.
Please note that masks are optional but strongly recommended for this event. The Vic Theatre also has in-room air disinfection and ultraviolet air treatment equipment for your safety. We love the coast. We also love movies!
See you at the show,
