Paov --

This week marks BC Seniors week. While we recognize the many contributions BC seniors make to our communities, they receive inadequate MSP benefits compared to seniors in other provinces in Canada.

For a province that is wealthy and progressive, this is unacceptable. BC seniors need better benefits.

Paov, will you join the call to advocate for better MSP benefits for seniors in BC? Send a letter to your MLA to let them know you support seniors accessing more extended health benefits.

Count Me In

The Office of the Seniors Advocate released a report, BC Seniors: Falling Further Behind, that compares extended benefits seniors receive across Canada. The report finds that BC doesn’t fund extended health benefits such as dental, eyeglasses, hearing aids or medical equipment like in other provinces and territories.

Instead, BC seniors are left to pay the total cost.

In response, the Jewish Seniors Alliance of Vancouver has developed a guide to support seniors as they navigate accessing benefits. But seniors should not have to make the difficult choice to pay for basic health needs on limited incomes.

When seniors have access to good benefits, they can live fuller and healthier lives. BC needs to do more to support seniors.

The Jewish Seniors Alliance has made it easy for anyone to join the call. Send a letter to your MLA. It only takes two minutes.

This BC Seniors week, we can work to ensure BC seniors get the support they need. Thanks for your support.

Sincerely,
