Public consultation offers hope for legal protection
Hi Paov,
The federal government is finally proposing to update the status of monarch butterflies as endangered after six years of delay! They also want to add two subspecies of native western bumble bees to the at-risk list.
If the government goes ahead with these changes it will drastically increase the protection measures offered to these species including a restriction on pesticides like glyphosate that directly harms them.
In short, this simple action could make big waves.
