Stop by and say hi when you get to the concert

Hi Paov,

Being invited by Bonnie Raitt as a preferred charity to join her on her Canadian tour is definitely something to talk about. We are so honoured.

Bonnie and the Wilderness Committee have been in the environmental movement since the 80s. We first met in the fight to save the old-growth forests of Clayoquot Sound on Vancouver Island.

But that’s not all we both care about. We both believe in the absolute necessity of protecting biodiversity and species habitat. We both know stemming climate change means stopping fossil fuel expansion and is the only way we can ensure we have a planet to live on. We both respect the rights and title of the Indigenous Peoples who are the original stewards of the lands and waters we are working to protect so we must do that work together.

It’s hard not to worry about the state of the world... these days. So much is at stake, right now. We’ve seen deadly wildfires, heat waves and floods — all in the last two months.

Working together with Bonnie and others willing to fight to make this world a better place is an opportunity to bring more people into the movement. It’s a movement that ensures our kids and grandkids can enjoy nature and biodiversity the way you and I have.

That’s why you’ll see us in the lobby at all 11 concert dates across the country. We can’t wait to see some of you in person. Staff from our Victoria, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Toronto offices will be joined by volunteers at each table, so make sure you stop by and say hi.

I’ll be at the Saskatoon and Regina dates. Can’t wait to see you there!

For the wild,

Beth Clarke
