Come chat about glyphosate’s impacts on biodiversity and how to stop it

Hi Paov,

We are thrilled to announce our tour Let's get pesticides out of forests, in partnership with Awi'nakola Foundation. Come check out our upcoming events on Vancouver Island — one in Victoria and another in Alert Bay.

Both will include incredible panelists discussing the impacts of glyphosate — the ingredient in Roundup — on wilderness, wildlife and Indigenous food and medicinal plants.

Glyphosate is sprayed over re-growing forests across B.C. by logging companies — harming biodiversity, human health and Indigenous food sovereignty. Come learn from scientists and Indigenous leaders about its use and how we can act together and stop it.

In 2023, over 9,000 hectares of land over Ma’amtagila territory and the neighboring Kwakwaka’wakw Nations was approved by the B.C. government to be sprayed with glyphosate. Thankfully, 97 per cent of the planned toxic herbicide spray was halted after First Nations and the public sounded the alarm. Join us to discuss this win and brainstorm how to protect the forest and important harvesting areas from the toxic spray.

Since launching our campaign to stop the spraying of glyphosate, in early 2023, we’ve had a busy year in the field and connecting with community members across B.C. 2024 can be the year we build real momentum towards a ban on this practice. And that starts with events like this.

I hope to see you there!
