Let’s ensure Canada creates a strong Biodiversity Strategy
Hi Paov,
We made history at the UN Biodiversity Conference in 2022! We inspired the Kunming-Montréal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) — a historic plan to stop nature loss once and for all.
As part of this plan, Canada committed to create a National Biodiversity Strategy to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030, and fully recover nature by 2050.
The federal government has started working with provinces, conservation organizations and Indigenous knowledge-holders. But they are behind schedule and time is running out for nature.
While the process drags on, the dual biodiversity and climate crises worsen. From the air we breathe to the water we drink and the food we eat, we all depend on a healthy environment to survive. Our communities can’t afford to lose nature. And your letter can make a difference.
Tell the federal government to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030. Write to them, asking for a National Biodiversity Strategy backed by science, Indigenous knowledge and a whole-of-government approach, to fully recover nature by 2050.
