Join us in June for a gathering of our own
Dear Paov,
Last Wednesday, a handful of rockstar Frack Free BC volunteers gathered outside Canada Place in Vancouver to send a message to the fracking and liquefied natural gas companies meeting inside.
Together we painted this gorgeous mural linking their polluting products to climate disasters like wildfires. We also presented 113,000 signatures from folks like you... opposing an expansion of fracking and LNG.
As B.C. deals with drought and braces for what could be the worst wildfire season on record, it’s clear now is not the time to build a brand new fossil fuel industry. But since fracking and LNG lobbyists are getting together to plot how to expand gas extraction, we need to do the same to put a stop to it.
Join us June 7 to 9 at Forward! For a Frack Free Future! We’ll have speakers and workshops from all over the province and across Canada to help folks level up their skills, hear from impacted communities and get involved in the movement to end fracking. Meet fellow climate activists and discuss how we’ll make B.C.’s LNG plans an issue in the next provincial election.
In the last few years, our movements have been thriving on Zoom and social media. But that’s no substitute for good old in-person conversations. If you’re feeling down about the prospect of a smoky summer, taking action with a community of like-minded humans is an excellent antidote to climate grief.
Hope to see you there!
