Important Pacific Blue Cross Update

NationBuilder r1

Paov,

Last week, we put out an urgent call to all Pacific Blue Cross (PBC) members to vote in the PBC Board of Directors elections. We wanted to make sure we could stop CEO Brian Day from becoming a director of the PBC Board with the objective of pushing privatization through BC’s largest not-for-profit extended benefits provider.

As of June 14th, PBC Members were informed that the Pacific Blue Cross Board Elections were postponed. You can read Pacific Blue Cross’ statement here.

The good news is we have more time to mobilize voters who want to see a PBC Board that prioritizes people over profits. The bad news is, that PBC members who have already voted will need to recast their ballot when the election is rescheduled. So, remember to check your inbox for updates from Pacific Blue Cross and talk to your friends, family and co-workers who are PBC members about the importance of keeping pro-privatization candidates off of the PBC Board.

If we are going to stop Dr. Brian Day from bringing his pro-privatization political agenda to B.C.’s largest not-for-profit benefits provider, we need every Pacific Blue Cross member ready to vote!
