Paov,
I’m reaching out to you to hear about your concerns and experiences with some of our health system’s most vital resources - emergency rooms.
Would you take this 3 minute survey? We have been hearing alarming stories of the impacts of emergency room closures. Here's one from Caroline:
I was feeling ill and went to the hospital in Oliver but it was closed due to staff shortages at 4:30 pm. My daughter had to take me back and forth between hospitals seeking treatment….I had cavitary pneumonia and COVID. Once I was admitted to the Penticton Hospital, I was septic and had to be revived. I spent 11 days in the hospital. They had to prepare my husband as there was a good chance I wasn’t going to survive.
My name is Audrey and I am the lead organizer at the BC Health Coalition. We’re an evidence-based, non-partisan organization that brings together community members, seniors, students,... health care workers, researchers and community service providers to be the voice of public health care in BC.
We’d like to better understand how different communities are impacted by emergency room closures in BC. Will you take our survey today and share your story with us?
Responses will be anonymous and will not be associated with your name and email. Your answers will help shape our ongoing work.
