Paov,
It’s going to take all of us to secure real health care commitments from candidates and parties this election.
On Tuesday, we launched our provincial election campaign in support of public health care. Are you ready to join in?
Between now and October 9, we’re asking you to reach out to your local candidates and ask them where they stand on six solutions to heal public health care.
We’ve created an Action Toolkit to help you connect to other people in your area, reach out to your candidates, and report back with what you’re learning about candidates who are willing to stand for public health care.
Go to the toolkitWe have just two weeks to identify candidates who are willing to work with us - now and after the election - to fight for our... public health care system. Whether you can attend election events, track local news outlets, or email candidate offices from the comfort of your home, join us in action to get this work done before October 9.
As your report backs get back to our team, we’ll be working on a report card that compares where each party stands on health care commitments and looking for candidates that we can endorse as health care champions.
Then, in the days leading up to the election, we’ll be recruiting teams of volunteers in key ridings to get out the vote for public health care.
Stay tuned for campaign updates and check out the section below for different ways you can get involved this election.
Onward!

Join a local area WhatsApp group
This election, we’re organizing local campaign teams who will work together to track and report the developments of their local campaigns, including commitments made on health care.
Local campaign teams are organized around clusters of battleground ridings, so they may be tracking more than one race. This is a nice way for you to meet people in your area beyond your riding and find out where you can take action close to home and have the greatest impact.
The best way to connect with your local campaign team is to join your area’s WhatsApp group in the BC Health Coalition WhatsApp community. WhatsApp is a phone or desktop app that allows you to join a community and its discussion groups using your phone number. It’s a powerful organizing tool that’s been used effectively to empower volunteers on many campaigns.
Ask Your Candidates - Action Toolkit
Candidates in all political parties and every electoral riding need to see that British Columbians are taking a stand for public health care, including asking candidates to explain where they and their party stand on six practical solutions that would not only heal the underlying strains in our current health system, but will expand vital services to support our growing seniors’ population and the many people who need improved access to primary care and mental health support.
We’re calling on supporters of public health care across the province to put their candidates to the test and help identify health care champions committed to the fight for the health care system we all rely on.
We’ve created an Action Toolkit to help you connect to other people in your area, reach out to your candidates, and report back with what you’re learning about candidates who are willing to stand for public health care.
Sign up to volunteer
We’re looking for leaders across the province who are interested in coordinating team efforts leading up to the election! Other roles include being a social media ambassador, organizational liaison, or signing up to help get out the vote for election day.
Join the BC Seniors for Public Health Care Facebook Group
This group is for seniors and senior-led organizations to share resources, events, and updates this election.
