Last year, we shared many episodes of Whatever’s Wild — our video series hosted by Campaign Assistant Cedar George-Parker. These episodes featured compelling conversations with our campaigners, giving in-depth insights into our work from the folks who are out on the land and in communities all year round.
I’m excited to share our latest episode, which takes a closer look at some of the vital behind-the-scenes work that makes our campaigns so effective. In this episode, Cedar sits down with our incredibly talented Research and Mapping Coordinator Geoff Senichenko and dives into the world of mapping!
A veteran staff member of more than... 20 years, “GIS Geoff” is the wizard behind every map and mapping analysis included in our campaigns. From logging in old-growth forests to risky mining proposals to cross-province pipeline routes, if it threatens local ecosystems, chances are Geoff has mapped it!
Most of you know our campaigners — they serve as our spokespeople and are often featured in the news and social media videos. They’re the ones emailing you ways to take action on issues you care about. But working alongside these campaigners is an amazing team of experts who supercharge our projects and make our work so nimble and effective.
We’re excited to provide a chance to hear from one of those experts. In this episode, Geoff’s passion for using maps as informative and powerful tools to tell the story about what’s really happening on the land shines through.
