Vancouver Island’s glaciers are disappearing at an alarming rate due to climate change, according to research done by UVic Geography faculty member Dan Smith. In the 1970’s there were about 170 glaciers on the Island, now there are only five left, all will be gone within 25 years. See Times Colonist.

UVic’s EcoCar2 team, made up of over 50 Engineering students and faculty as well as community partners, was profiled in the Times Colonist.
