NEWS
It has been an important week for conversations on energy and the environment this week. The Federal Government’s official approval of the Northern Gateway pipeline project last Tuesday afternoon spurred waves of dialogue about our collective reliance on fossil fuels and the need to think critically about the ways we consume energy. It’s an important time to get involved.
Tonight Elizabeth May and Ken Wu will be hosting the Environmental and Climate Change Action Seminar at the Ambrosia Centre from 7 to 9 PM. The evening will focus on how to build effective environmental campaigns. Tickets are $10. For more info link to the Facebook event.
Did you know that the UVic Office of Sustainability has a website? This... summer we will be doing some web redesign, and we would love your help! Link here to our short survey to help us make our new website as effective as possible. Submit your feedback by Friday June 27th.
Some good news for those working to reduce their energy footprint at home: BC Hydro and Fortis BC are offering a rebate program to support the purchase of energy efficient utilities such as heat pumps, water heaters and insulation. Have a look at their webpage for more info.
