Students and community members rally to take back the night

Victoria, BC –- The University of Victoria Women’s Centre, in partnership with other advocacy-based organisations at UVic, are organizing this year’s Take Back The Night march and rally on campus on November 27.

DATE: Thursday November 27, 2014

TIME:
4:30pm

LOCATION:
UVIC Student Union Building (SUB), University of Victoria, B.C.

DETAILS: At 4:30pm community members will meet and mobilize for guest speakers and a rally at the SUB. At 5:00pm we will march along Ring Road and end the march at... the SUB for a candlelit vigil. All allies in the Greater Victoria region are welcome to attend.

ATTENDING: UVic students, faculty, staff and Greater Victoria community members.

This event is organized to raise awareness on our campus and in our community about the issues of sexual and gendered violence and to let it be known that this violence, or violence of any kind, will not be tolerated on our campus, community, city or anywhere else.

We invite everyone to Take Back the Night with strong voices and to end the silence and stop the violence.
