SEEDS OF CHANGE with Robin Tunnicliffe

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

University of Victoira

Cornett B107 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm

Activists come in many forms. Some like organic farmer Robin Tunnicliffe work within global and local networks of ecological, organic and peasant farmers to create a food system that is both socially just, ecological and healthy. They do not wait for policy to change the world, they live the change the want to see. They are growing a different world. Robin Tunnicliffe is the farm manager at Sea Bluff Farm in Metchosin. She has been farming certified organic produce for the past 15 years. Together with two other farmers she runs Saanich Organics, a local produce distributor. Saanich Organics sells produce to the top restaurants and grocers in the Victoria region, as well as to families and at... farmers markets. Robin holds an MA in Food Policy from the University of Victoria. She is a regular contributor to farming journals and magazines, and has been invited to speak at major organic farming conferences in California and Guelph. She serves on several boards of directors, including USC Canada, and The Islands Organic Producers’ Association. She has co-authored a book about her work with Saanich Organics called “All the Dirt: Reflections on Organic Farming”.
