This weekend is winter solstice - we have an annual appeal call to action!

THE WINTER SOLSTICE is a powerful time on our planet. It is a time to come together and celebrate Earth’s turning the corner back toward the light. We cease going further and further into darkness and, once again, begin to increase the hours of daylight, here in the Northern Hemisphere.

The winter solstice was and is an important part of many indigenous cultures spiritual beliefs, a time of cosmic change and renewal. So as we all join in rejoicing the return of the sun and its healing warmth, we also celebrate the joy of belonging within a greater community and the voice of determination inside of each of us to survive the dark days and be patient for the return of light.

This weekend, we want to see if 100 people will donate $100 to give us a great start for the return of the sun! The funds go toward ensuring RAVEN can continue to provide the kind of support for nations like the Tsilhqot'in, Beaver Lake Cree, Heiltsuk, Kitasoo/Xai'xais, Gitxaala, Nadleh Whut'en, Nak'azdli, and Haida as they push back in the courts to protect their land, water, culture and way of life.
