You’ve rallied Canadians against the Secret Police Bill, but time is running out. We’re ready to launch a highly-targeted campaign to turn up the pressure on a few key Conservative MPs on the committee that could take out the worst parts of the Secret Police Bill.
Can you donate $10, $20, $50 or more to power this hyper-targeted phase of the campaign?

You are part of an inspiring group of people. This weekend, thousands and thousands of you stood up in 73 different communities - from St. John’s to Victoria, from Windsor to Yellowknife - to reject fear and stop Harper’s Secret Police Bill.
The snap actions brought together a diverse coalition of groups and local
leaders, with national coordination from Leadnow.ca, the BCGEU, OpenMedia.ca
and Protest Canada, to show that we are united in the defence of our freedom.
Together, you got blanket media coverage in national news,
with many, many more local stories in the backyards of MPs who are starting to
worry about the political consequences of supporting this bill.
You’re standing up, you’re speaking out, you’re spreading the word -
and it’s working. Yesterday, a new poll showed that public support for the
Secret Police Bill is collapsing, down 40% in just a few weeks![1]
Now we need your help to build on your national success with a targeted,
hyper-local campaign. Our best chance to stop the worst parts of the
Secret Police Bill from becoming law is to crank up the pressure on the handful
of Conservative MPs who control the committee that is reviewing amendments to
the bill.
Your actions and donations have turned the tide at the national level.
Millions of people have seen your campaign online, but time is running out and
we need to focus on the committee. Can
you donate $10, $20, $50 or more to power this hyper-targeted phase of the
campaign?
With your help, we’ll target the Conservative MPs who have been stifling debate
at the Public Safety Committee that is reviewing the Secret Police Bill.
They've been using procedural tricks and making disturbing attacks on the
experts and community leaders who’ve spoken out against the bill. [2][3][4]
These Conservative MPs have been confident that they can get away with
this bad behaviour - secure in their belief that Canadians will just give up
their freedoms to fear-mongers. On Saturday, you proved them wrong.
We need show them that their actions could cost them their seats in the next
election, which is just months away. We’re ready to launch locally-targeted
campaigns. With your donations, we’ll pay for hard-hitting local ads and
mobilize local volunteers to talk to voters face-to-face and really turn up the
heat in the MPs’ home ridings - but we need your support to make
it happen.
If we all donate what we can, together we’ll raise the $10,000 we need
to target the Conservative MPs on the Public Safety Committee. We’ll focus on
Daryl Kramp, the committee chair, and Roxanne James, a Conservative MP who only
won because of an NDP-Liberal vote split in the last election. If we
exceed our targets, we will expand the campaign and target key swing ridings
that we know the Conservatives need to win in the upcoming election if they
want to hold their majority.
Will you donate $10, $20, $50 or more to fund this urgent, targeted
and local phase of the campaign to stop the Secret Police bill?
Your actions have already made this an incredibly successful campaign, and
together with other leading organizations, experts and community leaders,
you’ve already rallied the public against the bill.
When the bill was introduced, a vast majority of Canadians supported it.[5][6]
You signed the petition, you shared with your friends and family, you donated
for creative online ads that reached millions of people, and you stood
up with allies all across the country on Saturday.
Now, new polls show that support for this bill is collapsing - just as
we’re entering the crucial couple of weeks when the worst parts of the bill
could be removed by the committee. We need your support now to take this to the
home ridings of the handful of Conservative MPs who sit on that committee.
Will
you make a donation today to help us fund an urgent, targeted and local
campaign that will turn up the pressure on the Conservative committee members
who have the power to stop the worst parts of the Secret Police Bill from
becoming Canadian law?
