Skwomesh Action is group of land and water defenders from the Squamish Nation. On March 29th, 2015 we hosted a rally in Squamish, BC called "Defend the Salish Sea from Woodfibre LNG" where over 500+ people marched to say no to the Woodfibre LNG proposal.

Skwomesh Action is opposed to the transportation of diluted bitumen through Skwomesh territory. Kinder Morgan proposes to build a new pipeline and export facility to transport Tar Sand bitumen through the Salish Sea.

THE INLET
The Skwomesh People have utilized and lived in the Burrard Inlet since time immemorial. Our ancestors blood and tears are in the land of this area.
We say yes to restoring life to the inlet and we say no to oil tankers.
CLIMATE ACTION
Indigenous people around the world are rising up in response to the global climate crisis we are facing. Frontline communities will feel the burden of this crisis the most.

Shale gas pipelines to Woodfibre LNG are not welcome.
The Skwomesh People do not want Woodfibre LNG.
RISK
The Woodfibre LNG proposal presents too great a risk to our people, our land, and our water.
HARM
This project will severely impact the things we hold dear and sacred.
WRONG
The proposal for Woodfibre is not the vision our people have for the Howe Sound.
We call for a ban on LNG tankers in the Howe Sound.
