Salish Sea

Hi PAOV,

In the battle to stop Kinder Morgan’s massive tar sands pipeline project, the Premier in BC could help us out a lot by doing the right thing!

However, she is currently endorsing the notorious “equivalency agreement” – an agreement made by her own government back in 2010 with the federal government, stating that BC won’t do its own examination of the impact of national fossil fuel projects on our environment!

We don’t agree with that decision.

That’s why we are asking you to sign the Petition demanding that Christy Clark pull out of the equivalency agreement, and take back the power to make the call on Kinder Morgan in BC, where it belongs!

TAKE ACTION NOW - Sign the Petition!

By signing this agreement, BC agreed to accept the findings of any federal review on oil pipelines. For Kinder Morgan’s Transmountain project, accepting this restrictive review process shut out the vast majority of British Columbians, and banned any mention of the impact this enormously damaging project will have on our climate – generating approximately 1 million tonnes of carbon pollution every year.

The Wilderness Committee created this Petition back in 2013 when we first launched our Save the Salish Sea campaign. Since then, our campaign has grown to include all of the oil, gas and coal projects slated to transport dirty fossil fuels via the Pacific Coast.

We then created the perfect tool to combat all of these projects in one action: the Pledge to Save the Salish Sea. By taking the Pledge, you join the growing community of people standing up for our climate and our shared waters. You also give us the chance to let you know about future opportunities to join with thousands of Canadians and Americans to protect these shared waters and protect our climate.

Over the last two years, our partners in the fight to stop Kinder Morgan’s pipeline project have also been asking their supporters to demand action from BC’s premier. We have joined together, and later this year we will be delivering all of our petitions to the BC Legislature.

We already have close to 40,000 signatures from across the province, so please add your name to the list by signing the Petition. We need at least 10,000 more signatures so that the Premier hears us loud and clear.

TAKE ACTION NOW>>

Thank you for stepping up yet again to save our coast!
