Next Volunteer Action Meeting – Wednesday, September 30th
Hi PAOV,
Next week, come learn about how you can help save the ancient forests of the Walbran Valley.
On Wednesday, September 30th at 5:30 p.m., join WC Victoria staff for an overview of our efforts to Save the Walbran, and find out ways that you can take action and help us with this urgent campaign.
This fall will be a very busy season for our Save the Walbran campaign. The Ministry of Forests has just approved the logging permit for a cutblock in the central Walbran Valley (one of Canada’s most important stands of unprotected old-growth forest), so we are ramping up our efforts even more to protect this special place.
Teal Jones could begin logging this area any day now, so we need as many volunteers as possible to help out with this campaign!
If you haven’t already, please use our online tool to send a letter to the BC government demanding protection for the Walbran Valley’s ancient forest. You can also help by spreading the word and encouraging your friends and family to take action.
We host our regular Volunteer Action Nights (with a different activity each month) on the last Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at our Victoria office (#202, 3 Fan Tan Alley). Snacks are provided.
Please RSVP for next week’s volunteer night on our Facebook event pager0
