Hi PAOV,
When you go to the polls on October 19th – remember to vote for Canada’s environment.
Vote for clean air and fresh water, for bumble bees and grizzly bears. Vote for a stable and healthy climate, for effective environmental laws and for wild salmon.
Vote for future generations.
Poll after poll shows Canadians care about our environment. People living here, from the wild west coast of British Columbia to the rocky shores of Newfoundland, understand that our wilderness and wildlife are precious – and worth protecting.
Sadly, over the past several years we have witnessed the weakening of many of the laws and policies meant to protect our freshwater, fish, species at risk and the climate.
Voting on October 19th is your opportunity to stand up for our environment and let politicians know that your Canada includes strong environmental laws, climate leadership, protected rivers, healthy wildlife and old-growth forests.
For more information on what has happened to Canada’s environment and what we need to do to correct it, please check out our recent report: Canada’s Natural Heritage – Worth Fighting For.
For the wild,
Gwen Barlee | Policy Director
Wilderness Committee
P.S. If you were one of the 3.6 million Canadians who already voted in the advance polls, that’s great! I hope you’ll encourage your friends and family to vote with the environment in mind, too.
