Let's speak up for the ancient forest this Wed. January 6th
Hi PAOV,
It’s a new year, and a new month – and that means it’s time for our next #WalbranWednesday phone blitz!
On the first Wednesday of each month, we’re targeting different offices to call on decision-makers to protect the endangered ancient forest of the Central Walbran Valley on Vancouver Island.
The goal is to mobilize as many people as possible to join Walbran Wednesday, then pick up our phones and speak up to oppose logging in this incredible forest.
Right now, the campaign to save the Walbran is at a critical point – today we spent the day in court to fight yet another injunction application from logging company Teal Jones. Read more about today’s injunction hearing here.
This Walbran Wednesday, we’ll be calling Steve Thomson, the BC Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations!

Last month, forest defenders from far and wide made calls to the BC Ministry of Forests South Island District Office to demand that logging permits be rescinded. If you were part of the action, thank you! We know our voices have helped put this issue on the BC government’s radar.
Please join us this Wednesday to call on BC’s Forest Minister in defence of the Walbran Valley – and please invite your friends and family to participate, too!
