TAPS is helping organize for a RALLY on Wednesday, March 02 @ noon at the legislature.
As many of you know – the provincial government recently announced an increase of $77.00 for people in receipt of provincial persons with disabilities benefits. In the same breath, they also announced changes to the Annual Bus Pass program, cancelling the $45/year bus pass and replacing it with a new monthly fee of $52 plus a $45 ‘administration fee’.
This is unacceptable and we are calling on the provincial government to reverse this decision.
Please find attached a poster for the Rally on Wednesday. If you could please print and spread the word far and wide, that would be incredible!
People are coming from Inclusion BC and other organizations in the Lower Mainland to participate in the Rally. There are also other rallies being organized for the... same date and time in other places in BC.
There is also a facebook event, which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1704233233193762/permalink/1704233659860386/
Finally, I am encouraging people to sign Inclusion BC’s petition – you can find it here: http://www.inclusionbc.org/disability-supports/whats-new/sign-petition-raise-rates-leave-our-bus-pass-alone
