Your commitment and passion never ceases to amaze us.
Last week we put out a call for donations to stand with Treaty 8 against Site C. Thanks to a huge response and the matching funds of a generous donor, we raised nearly $10,000 over the weekend.
Alongside donors from across BC and around the world, you understand that Treaty 8's case against this mega-project is strong. The legal challenge is strategic, urgent, and—unfortunately—expensive. This is the fight of a generation: with hydro rates predicted to rise 40% due to this unnecessary dam, we are being locked into paying for a project whose real intent is to provide cheap power to the LNG and oil industries. While we need at least $250k to fight the project in court, in the long run it'll be money very well spent.
Behind BC Hydro there's the power of one desperate political party leaning hard on the Site-C horn. Behind RAVEN is the power of the crowd: we know what a huge impact we can make when we work together. During our Pull Together campaign, hundreds of people set up online fundraising pages, each raising an average of $750. Using the same online crowdfunding tools, David Suzuki and Caleb Behn have each raised $5000 to stop Site-C. Lynn Chapman blew past her $2k goal and has raised over $2500. Using RAVEN's powerful online crowdfunding tools, little gifts of $10, $25, and $50 really add up.
So far, 35 people have set up online fundraisers and are using their social networks to spread the word and raise funds. It's easy: it takes 10 minutes to set a goal, tell a little story about why you are standing with Treaty 8 against Site C, and share your fundraiser online.

If you prefer to simply donate, thank you. If you are still on the fence, remember that every dollar you give will be matched, doubling your impact.
Your support in this campaign makes all the difference. It is so encouraging to know we are standing together.
