Last year I attended an outdoor gathering at Fish Lake located west of Williams Lake BC, hosted by the Tsilhqot’in Nation in celebration of their Dasiqox Tribal Park proposal. Hearing first hand from Tsilhqot’in leaders, youth and elders about the importance of protecting their territory from the industrial impacts of logging and mining made me wish everyone could hear what they had to say.

Now the Wilderness Committee and our partners River Voices Productions have produced a brand new video that highlights the cultural importance of this stunningly beautiful wild area. Watch the video and you will meet and hear from some of the amazing people working to protect the territory. The five-minute video is the first of a two-part series.

This video was produced in partnership with the Tsilhqot’in communities of Xeni Gwet'in, Yunesit'in and the Friends of Nemiah Valley.

“We want to fix it with this tribal Park,” says Chief Roger William of Xeni Gwet'in, in reference to industrial impacts on the lands and wildlife of Tsilhqot’in territory.

Please watch the video, “like” it and then share it as widely as possible on social media or by forwarding this email to your friends and family. Raising public awareness about the work to designate the Dasiqox Tribal Park is critical in order to support the Tsilhqot’in people’s efforts to protect and manage their beautiful territory.

After viewing the video, please take the time to write BC’s Premier and Canada’s Prime Minister in support of the Dasiqox Tribal Park proposal.

For the wild,

Joe Foy | National Director
