Social Justice Historical Bus Tour Youth Project Opportunities
Did you know that CRAB Park stands for "Create A Real Available Park?" Or that Coal Harbour was once home to the only Hawaiian community in Vancouver? Are you interested in learning more about the untold stories of Vancouver? Join our Social Justice Bus Tour youth team and gain experience in community engagement, facilitation, and applying a social justice lens to local history!
The team of youth for this project will work together to coordinate a tour route of historic sites around Vancouver and learn to narrate stories surrounding those places. No experience needed - just an open-mind and an enthusiasm to learn and connect to local communities!
The project will run from June to October 2017 and is open to youth aged 25 and under. We can provide reference letters for those who need to gain volunteer hours as well as bus tickets (and of course, food)!
