I’m writing to encourage you to get involved in the campaign to elect Nathalie Chambers as a strong, independent voice for sustainability in the upcoming Saanich by-election.

All around the world, the status quo is changing. Voters are throwing out old governments and their corporate agendas. Activists are standing up for their communities and environment. Everywhere you look, people are searching for a new vision. It’s a time of political change, a time of political hope.

Nathalie’s campaign provides an opportunity to be a part of that change, right here in Saanich. Nathalie is not your average politician. She is a strong progressive with a lifelong history of social and environmental activism. As an organic farmer, Nathalie fought for years to have her home at Madrona Farm and the surrounding ecosystems protected forever. Now, she stewards the land, bringing affordable, organic food to the local community, while raising her family with strong community values. Her book Saving Farmland demonstrates the starring role local communities can play in building a more sustainable, fairer world.

In every aspect of her life, Nathalie embodies a positive, ecologically sustainable vision of the future. I know I can count on her to bring that vision to Saanich council.

That’s why I’m asking for your help. Please:

1) Sign up as a supporter, campaign volunteer, or lawn sign recipient.
2) Make a donation to Nathalie’s campaign.
3) Come out to our campaign kick-off and fundraiser! Wednesday June 28th, 6:00-8:00 pm at Madrona Farm, 4317 Blenkinsop Road. The event will feature local appetizers, music and speakers, and will give you a chance to meet Nathalie, share your ideas and get involved.
