She's desperate

Just wanted to make sure you saw this. Last week we launched an emergency action to flood BC’s media with letters to the editor, calling out Christy Clark’s deceitful ploy to hang onto power.

So far 364 people have submitted letters - and we’re already seeing them being published in newspapers across the province! The legislature is expected to vote on whether to defeat Christy Clark’s government this Thursday. Can you submit a letter to the editor before then?

Yes, I'll write a letter

We have a tool to make it quick and easy to submit to multiple papers at once and talking points to get you started. With only three days to go there’s no time to waste.

Original (from June 22)

In today’s throne speech, Christy Clark’s BC Liberals showed just how desperate they are to regain power. They’ve suddenly reversed their position on a number of policies -- issues they’ve never cared about before, from banning big money, and raising welfare rates to providing affordable childcare. [1]

So, what inspired the change of heart? One of Clark’s own MLAs flat-out admitted that “for sure, it’s about votes”. [2]

Clark is betting that if she can get a flood of positive press coverage of her bogus promises, she can win back the key voters that could carry her to victory in the next election.

And an election could be just around the corner. After we wrote you yesterday, Clark said she won’t ask for another election when her government falls, but with her next breath she hinted that the Lt. Gov. might call a snap election anyway. [3]

We need to make sure voters realize the truth: Christy Clark’s bogus promises are just a deceitful political game to try to get back into power.

A groundswell of voices exposing Christy Clark’s promises as cynical, power-hungry ploy to win back voters could help not only undermine her campaign to regain power, but it could also help shore up support for the Green-NDP alliance.

Thanks to 118 of you who chipped in, we were able to purchase cutting-edge technology that allows you to quickly and easily send letters to the editor of you local newspapers. If enough of us write letters to the editor, calling out Clark’s games and stating our support for an NDP-Green government, we can stop Clark from winning the narrative war. Will you write a letter now?

Yes, I'll write a letter

We’ve provided talking points to make it easy for you to craft your personalized message, and it only needs to be a few sentences long! Our tool will help you submit your letter to 5 newspapers in your area with just one click.

Yesterday we thought Clark was going to call on the Lt. Gov. to hold an election. Now she’s saying she won’t ask for a snap election, but hinting that the Lt. Gov. might call one anyways. It’s hard to predict exactly when the next election will take place, but it’s clear that Clark thinks it will be soon - and she’s kicking off her campaign with a throne speech full of bogus promises.

Tigers don’t change their stripes, and Clark hasn’t suddenly converted to be a progressive. She’s just coopting the most popular policies from the NDP and Green platforms to try to steal votes -- and we can't let her get away with it.

Clark is getting positive media attention for her most recent announcements. Unless we push back, It could help her repair her image, win back key voters, and win the next election. A flood of letters to the editor could expose her bogus promises as nothing more than a desperate attempt to hold onto power, and thwart her plans.

We need to act fast, before voters fall for Christy Clark’s cynical PR strategy. Will you write a letter to the editor now?
