Nanaimo Tuesday, June 13 6:00 pm, Harbourfront Library,

Palestine in my heart: a journey into a land of olives and occupation
Theresa Wolfwood reports with a slide presentation on her recent journey to Palestine and Jordan where she met with teachers, students, farmers, activists, artists, writers and local officials to learn about their struggles for justice in their occupied country. She also participated in the olive harvest, help plant olive trees to replace those destroyed by the occupier; olives and olive oil are the main source of income in Palestine. Discussion & action ideas follow her presentation.

Theresa has made three solidarity journeys to Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon in recent years. She has written and spoken extensively on these experiences in Canada, Europe and Asia. She works with a number of organizations which act for Palestinian rights; she is a member of the Canadian BDS coalitions, director of the Barnard-Baoecker Centre Foundation and is in active locally and globally in social movements. Her poetry collection: Love and Resistance, was published in the UK in 2014.
