Write now to help strengthen Canada's weak environmental laws!
Dear Friend,
After a decade of roll-backs Canada’s weak environmental laws need fixing. The government of Canada is currently considering changes to our Fisheries Act, Navigable Waters Protection Act, National Energy Board Act and our Environmental Assessment Act. Please write your MP now and tell them that Canada must get environmental protection right.
The government of Canada is proposing many changes, not all of them good. They are providing citizens only a small window to comment - up until August 28. I am asking you to write your member of Parliament now and ask that the public comment period be extended and that our weak environmental laws be greatly strengthened.
Because of Canada’s current ineffective environmental-protection laws we are facing Kinder Morgan’s deadly tar sands pipeline project, the Site C dam financial boondoggle and have recently experienced the Mount Polley Mine tailings dam failure. There is a better way.
Please write today!
