A small west coast Nation is
leading the way on sustainable energy
Dear Paov,
From record wildfires to some of the largest and most intense hurricanes ever recorded, it’s hard to read or watch the news these days without seeing the evidence of a changing climate all around us. We’ve got a lot of work to do to overcome this crisis.
The solutions are available and, in many cases, they are being deployed right under our noses.
Less than an hour from Victoria sits one of the most solar-powered communities in the world: the T’Sou-ke First Nation!
The T’Sou-ke have been celebrated for their leadership in the deployment of solar energy, and each year the Wilderness Committee organizes public tours to highlight their inspiring progress.
Join us Saturday, October 7 for a visit and educational tour of T’Sou-ke Nation!
The cost will be a sliding scale of $10-20 per person round trip (please contact us if cost is a limitation). Please bring cash.
Transportation:
We will be carpooling to T’sou-ke (just east of the town of Sooke), so if you have a vehicle and can drive others, please let us know! If you want to meet us in T'sou-ke, let us know too.
We'll be leaving downtown Victoria at 12:30pm, returning at 5:30pm. The tour starts at 2pm and ends around 4pm. Carpoolers will meet at Discovery Coffee (Douglas & Discovery) at 12:15pm.
Please bring your own snacks, water and a rain jacket. Invite your friends to join the tour as well!

The T’Sou-ke solar power project is an example of climate leadership – the kind we desperately need at the provincial and federal level. Join us to see the future first hand!
