How we stop Site C

Pro-dam political insiders are pressuring the BC Government to build Site C despite the evidence against it.

Chip in $5 to fight back with a hard-hitting radio ad exposing the truth about the megadam.

The BC Government could decide the fate of the Site C dam any day now. Powerful political insiders are pressuring the government to continue with the disastrous project -- but we’ve got a plan to fight back. [1]

If Site C goes forward, we’ll sink $10 billion into a dam we don’t need, while our schools and hospitals are crying out for funding. As if that’s not bad enough, your hydro bill will skyrocket, to subsidize below-cost power for billionaire fracking corporations. [2-4]

If we raise $5000 by Wednesday, we can blanket the vote-rich Vancouver suburbs with a hard-hitting radio ad exposing the truth about Site C. Your ad could be heard up to 200,000 times in key Lower Mainland ridings, shoring up opposition to the dam, and giving the government the political cover they need to cancel Site C. [5]

We need to get your ad on the air this week, before the government makes their decision on Site C. Can you chip in $5 to help us raise $5000 by Wednesday?

CHIP IN $5

We’re  joining forces with our friends at Sierra Club, FightC, and Wilderness Committee to buy up as much radio air time as we can -- and we’re already closing in on our $5000 target.

Each radio spot costs $110 and reaches more than 5,000 voters in the ridings the NDP can’t afford to lose. If we hit our target, your ad will be heard almost 200,000 times! [6]

Your hard-hitting radio campaign could be what it takes to fight against pro-dam political insiders. But we need to launch the campaign this week or we’ll miss the moment. Will you chip $5 in to help us reach our $5000 goal?

CHIP IN $5

We’ve seen the political power of radio ads before. In the BC election, your hard-hitting radio ad campaign helped defeat Christy Clark’s BC Liberal government. Now our new government is considering scrapping Site C – and if we flood the airwaves again, it could be what it takes to stop Site C once and for all. Chip in $5 to help get this ad on the air.

PS- After Trudeau approved Site C last year, almost everyone thought it was too late to stop the dam – but together we’re about to prove them wrong. Will you chip in $5 for the radio ad campaign that could help kill Site C for good?

PPS- If we pass our target, we’ll put money aside to run a second round of ads the day after the government announces their decision on Site C. We’ll prepare one ad congratulating them for stopping the dam, and another ad punishing them for caving into pressure from pro-dam lobbyists – and then let them decide which ad they want voters to hear.
