Heritage of Displacement - Historical Tour

Have you ever wondered how Vancouver looked like through the eyes of community 20 or 30 (or more!) years ago? Are you interested in learning about narratives of resistance and activism in Vancouver that have been "displaced" over time? Join us on our "Heritage of Displacement Bus Tour"!

Taking place on the unceded and occupied Coast Salish territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ nations, we will visit some places in Vancouver that you might not have encountered before. Led and organized by youth tour guides, we’ll explore themes of displacement, heritage and community in Vancouver’s past, present and future. And we’ll ask some tough questions about what we can all do to make Vancouver a better place.

Sunday, November 12th, 2017
12:30pm - 5:00pm; registration starts at 12:15pm
Location: starts and ends at Canuck Family Education Centre.

Register as soon as possible to guarantee that your bagged lunch will meet your dietary needs. Due to a limited number of seats, registration is on a first come first serve basis. We will keep a waitlist, so if you register and can no longer attend, please let us know.

- free bagged lunch provided
- ASL interpretation is currently being secured. Please let us know when you register if you require ASL interpretation.
- this event is not wheelchair accessible
- as this tour will stop in various locations, we cannot guarantee a scent-free/scent-reduced environment; at the same time we ask all participants to refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, and/or heavy scents
- several safer space point people will be with us on the tour to help meet access needs and facilitate a safer space
