Keep this dangerous open-pit mine
away from Kamloops
Dear Paov,
We have one final chance to stop the Ajax Mine. But we need to take urgent action now.
The BC government is required to give its decision by January 4, 2018 on this proposed open-pit Ajax copper and gold mine. And that decision needs to be no.
Paov, write the government now.

KGHM Ajax Mining Inc. is proposing to construct the Ajax open-pit copper and gold mine just outside of Kamloops, British Columbia, at Jacko Lake and the Pípsell Cultural and Heritage Area
After reviewing the mine for years the Stk’emlupsemc te Secwepemc Nation (SSN), representing the First Nation communities in the area, and the City of Kamloops have said no to the project.
Among its many risks, the proposed mine could generate huge amounts of wind-borne dust pollution. Six kilometres downwind and downslope from the mine are eight elementary schools, four high schools, four senior citizens residences, one hospital and one university.
A joint federal-provincial comprehensive study and assessment of the project has been completed and a decision is expected in early 2018.
Write a letter to the BC and Canadian Environment ministers now and tell them to reject the Ajax Mine proposal!
