2017 has been a phenomenal year.
Together, we worked really hard to ensure your public health care priorities were front and centre during the provincial election.
This past year you won commitments to
-
scrap unfair MSP fees
-
ensure seniors care homes are properly staffed
-
increase community-based multi-disciplinary primary health car
Not to mention, we also staved off private for-profit plasma collection in B.C. (for now), fought Brian Day’s attack on public health care in court, and exposed illegal billing in B.C.’s for-profit clinics.

However, now is not
the time... to get comfortable.
Corporate forces are working hard right now to scale back our hard-won commitments.
Profiteers like Brian Day and his deep-pocketed friends want to usher in US-style health care for Canada, where doctors can charge patients what they want, where they want, and private health insurance companies can sell -and deny- coverage to basic services.
While the victories of the election are hard won, they are only promises.
Without your support, your health care priorities could fall by the wayside.
That’s why we need to make sure election promises become realities.
Now, more than ever, we need to be organized to hold our elected officials to account and ensure these hard-won commitments are turned into action.
