Solidarity with the Palestinian Popular Resistance!
Boycott Israel now!
Palestinian BDS National Committee
Whether the current phase of Israel's intensified repression and Palestinian popular resistance will evolve into a full-fledged intifada or not, one thing is already evident – a new generation of Palestinians is marching on the footsteps of previous generations, rising up en masse against Israel's brutal, decades-old regime of occupation, settler colonialism and apartheid.
World governments, especially in the west, are calling this a "cycle of violence" where both sides are to blame, ignoring the root cause of the colonial conflict and their own complicity in enabling Israel to maintain it and to violate international law with impunity. Almost all Palestinians today are calling for a full boycott of Israel and...

Dear rabble readers,
I won’t lie to you. This election won’t change everything. It might not even change much. But we must stop Stephen Harper from continuing to erode our constitutional rights, cultural institutions, social programs, values, environment, democracy. So much damage has been done to so much of what we cherish as Canadians. How we undo it, I’m not exactly sure. But what I do know is that we need more news and information, more vision and more ideas on how to repair our increasingly unjust and unequal society.

Naked Neoliberalism:
Canadian Foreign Policy under Harper
Jerome Klassen
Since the Conservative government of Stephen Harper came to power in 2006, shifts in Canadian foreign policy have been a flashpoint of debate in Parliament, the media, and civil society. There is general agreement that a "revolution in Canadian foreign policy" has occurred, to quote Canadian academic Alexander Moens.
For liberals, Harper's changes are simply a product of his right-wing ideology and domestic maneuvers, and thus are amenable to executive reform. For social democrats and left-nationalists, the same perspective holds, with the added concern of U.S. influence over Canadian state practices. As Marxists have pointed out, the limitation of these perspectives is the absence of any political-economic analysis of Canadian state power -- of any...

Hey there fellow Canucks,
We are six days away from the Canadian Federal Election, the Libs and Cons are neck and neck and the future of Canada is up for grabs.
Our anti-Harper attack ad was rejected, first by CBC, then CTV and now by GLOBAL, after having negotiated the purchase of $10,000 worth of timeslots. We were told to remove the spitting on the flag shot — we refused to comply (see the Press Release we put out this morning).

Hey PAOV,The election is just over a week away and that means we’ve got just enough time to make sure our local candidates know how important it is to us that they take a strong stance on ending extreme poverty if they are elected.
Thankfully, our partners at Engineers Without Borders and ONE have made it really easy to get in touch with candidates through their awesome campaign Politics Aside.
All you need to do is type in your postal code and they’ll draft an email to all the candidates in your riding asking them to support ending extreme poverty.

Friends,
Over the last week, hundreds of people have told us that they’re planning to risk arrest this November at the the Climate Welcome Action. I’ve been moved by the courage of these people and their stories.
Here are some of the reasons that people across the country are mobilizing to the reasons that have motivated them to risk arrest outside the Prime Minister’s residence in less than a month:
“I am a mother to a small child and I owe it to him to fix the mistakes that we've made.”- Katrina - Nanaimo, BC
“I'm involved in the fossil fuel divestment campaign at my university. In order for divestment to have a real impact on climate policy, we need politicians who care about climate and will listen to people.”- Lila - Toronto, Ontario

Can Autoworkers Save the Climate?
Lars Henriksson
At the UN Climate Change Conference COP 19, the even-more-depressing-than-usual climate summit that took place in Warsaw in 2013, one small ray of light made it through the dark corporate clouds that were otherwise suffocating even the slightest effort to address the ongoing environmental disaster. On the last day of the conference, an unusual alliance was formed as environmental organizations and trade unions together walked out of the venue under the banner of "Enough Is Enough." Sick of the meaningless talks, they stated:
"We are now focusing on mobilizing people to push our governments to take leadership for serious climate action. We will work to transform our food and energy systems at a national and global level...
