With a large part of Indigenous nations’ territories and resources in what is now the United States taken through aggressive war, outright theft, and legislative appropriations, Native peoples have vast claims to reparations and restitution. Indigenous nations negotiated numerous treaties with the United States that included land transfers and monetary compensation, but the remaining Indigenous territories have steadily shrunk due to direct federal appropriation by various means as well as through government failure to meet its obligation to protect Indigenous landholdings as required under treaties. This is an emergency. A few days ago we called on you to tell Trade Minister Ed Fast to reject the TPP’s Internet censorship scheme. Well, he didn’t listen.
This morning, he sat on stage with Trade Ministers from the 11 other Trans-Pacific Partnership countries to announce they had completed the largest and most secretive agreement in the history of the world.1
This is outrageous. Canadians deserve transparency on the secretive TPP before we vote in the upcoming federal election....

Hey PAOV,I think it’s safe to say that last Saturday was the best Global Citizen Festival yet.
Nearly 60,000 global citizens stood in solidarity with US Vice President Joe Biden, the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai, Pearl Jam, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and many others to launch the #GlobalGoals. The collective action of global citizens, artists, activists and world leaders set a precedent for monumental change over the course of the next fifteen years - and because of you, 92 million lives are set to be affected.
