Dear PAOV
We are getting ready to host a Provincial BC Sustainable Energy Association viewing party at Triumph Coffee in Vernon this Saturday, November 23, 2019, from 12:30-3 PM. We have the board room there reserved.
Are you interested in tuning in with us to see what BCSEA as a collective is up to? There is a lot happening across BC and each of the Chapters will present on their work this year. The viewing party will give us a chance to renew our commitments while being able to discuss our perspectives amongst our chapter members.
The AGM will also be a chance for us to discuss our future in increasing functionality and relevancy, as well as, to receive new chapter board members, steering committee, and volunteer nominations. We can discuss the upcoming schedules for our Okanagan Sustainable Energy Task Force meetings throughout the Okanagan region.
To Sustainability!

Paov --
Closing arguments for the Cambie Trial start today. Can you help us pack the court?
If you're able to join in person, meet us outside the Vancouver Law Courts starting at 9am (we'll be at the corner of Nelson and Howe). There will be a press conference at 9:30 and it would be powerful to have a huge crowd of public health supporters as a backdrop to the press conference. Around 9:50 we'll head inside. Court proceedings start at 10.
If you can’t be at the law courts in person, supporters across the country can virtually attend and show support by checking in at the Vancouver Law Courts on Facebook. Instructions for how to virtually check in are at the bottom of this email.
Thank you for your ongoing support!

Paov --
On Monday, we will be back in court for the final three weeks of the Cambie Trial. We need to show there’s strong support for health care that is available to all based on need, not ability to pay. Help us do this by packing the court on Monday, either in person, or with a virtual check-in.
Can you join us at the courthouse (the corner of Nelson and Howe) at 9am on Monday? If we pack the court with supporters of public health care, we can show that there is broad support for health care that is available to everyone, regardless of the ability to pay. Please note the updated location from the last email.
If you can’t be at the law courts...

Last week, Paulo Paulino was shot and killed for defending his forest.
Friends,Let's never forget Paulo Paulino Guajajara.
Last week, he was shot in the neck and killed for defending the forest he loved.
A devoted member of the Amazon Guardians, Paulo was a humble man who dedicated his life to protecting the Amazon rainforest and his relatives and uncontacted neighbors, the Awá. I became friends with Paulo through my work with the Amazon Guardians, who Survival has supported for many years.
When Paulo and a fellow Guardian were ambushed by loggers, they weren’t even out on patrol. His friend, Tainaky Tenetehar, was shot multiple times, but miraculously escaped with his life.
Tragically, Paulo was not so lucky. He died that day in the forest.

INVASION Premieres Today!
Invasion is Live now! Watch it today, share the film with your friends, and organize a screening in your community!
Watch INVASION Now!
In this era of "reconciliation", Indigenous land is still being taken at gunpoint. INVASION is a new film about the Unist'ot'en Camp, Gidimt'en checkpoint, and the larger Wet'suwet'en Nation standing up to the Canadian government and corporations who continue colonial violence against indigenous people.
The 18 minute film is powerful and covers many of the events of the last year.
Organize a community screening of INVASION
This fight is far from over. Getting this story out to the larger public is critical and you can do that by sharing INVASION with friends and hosting a screening in your community!
Simply download the film here, make a Facebook event using this graphic, and download and print the poster designed by Gord Hill and plaster around your town. You can host anywhere from a living room to a local theater.
