Our values are inclusivity, empowerment, awareness, creativity, community, diversity and respect. 

We will remove posts that have been reported and determined as are derogatory, intolerant, racist, sexist, intentionally malicious, bigotry and overtly counterproductive.

Dr. Aaron Bobrow-Strain is an internationally recognized expert on the history, geography, and politics of the U.S.-Mexico border. His most recent book, The Death and Life of Aida Hernandez: A Border Story (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, 2019) examines the history of militarization on the border through the dramatic life story of an ordinary young woman trapped between worlds.

Happy New Year! In this, our first month without unfair MSP fees for almost everyone in BC, we send a huge thanks to you, and all our members, for being there with us working to strengthen public health care for all.

This success is due to your hard work, donations and support, and is only part of the improvements we continued to see throughout 2019, such as:

  • In March, thanks to changes advocated by BCHC members, and implemented by the Ministry of Health, we learned from the Canadian Institute for Health Information that BC is one of the few provinces where wait times are going down for surgeries.
  • The BC Health Coalition welcomed the government’s strategy of building and purchasing MRI suites across the province and seeing improved MRI wait times in all BC health authorities,...
