TAKE ACTION: SHOW YOUR SUPPORT ON OUR FINAL DAY IN THE CAMBIE TRIAL

NationBuilder r1 British Columbia Health Coalition

Paov --

The controversial legal challenge which put public health care on trial was unexpectedly postponed in December but finally comes to a close this week.

Today, constitutional lawyer, Joe Arvay, argues on behalf of the coalition intervenor group.

Show your support on social media by checking in at the Vancouver Law Courts on facebook. Click here for instructions.

Cambie is back in Courts!

NationBuilder r1 British Columbia Health Coalition

Paov --

The final 3 days of arguments in the Cambie Surgical Case resume today, Tuesday, February 25th, following an unforeseen court delay.

The legal challenge aims to strike down key provisions of the Medicare Protection Act, which would incentivize publicly enrolled doctors to spend more time with patients who pay to see them, over those...

Dear Friends of SJS,

Feb. 19:

CCPA discussion of the Budget

The BC government has made progress in a number of areas – such as measures to improve housing affordability, changes that make our tax system more fair, and the first steps towards a universal affordable child care program. Our team at the CCPA will take a close look at this year’s provincial budget as soon as it is released — and hope to see further bold action on the key challenges facing BC.

Join us on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 to hear our reaction and analysis on the 2020 budget — and to get a sneak peek at upcoming CCPA research.

This event will feature Ben Parfit, Resource Policy Analyst, Iglika Ivanova, a senior economist and our public interest researcher; Alex Hemingway, our public finance analyst; Emira Mears, Associate Director and myself.

Please feel welcome to bring guests who might be interested in issues around social, economic and environmental justice.

There will be time for questions and discussion.

Date: Wednesday, February 19, 2020

Time: Doors open...
