GOOD NEWS - MSP coverage expanded to all uninsured people for COVID-19 testing and treatment!

NationBuilder r1 British Columbia Health Coalition

Paov --

This crisis has made clear that barriers to health care only increase risk. BC is moving in the right direction by starting to expand health coverage to those who were previously uninsured. Now, all migrants in BC (including newly-landed permanent residents, temporary foreign workers, international students, those who have been rendered undocumented and those who have been stuck here since the borders closed) will have vital access to COVID-19 related health care. This is an important step towards ensuring equitable access to Universal Public Health Care while also helping to safeguard all of our health.

MSP coverage for migrants has been amended in a number of ways during the crisis. Information concerning extended coverage can be found on the BC Government...

Send a thank you to our front line health care workers!

NationBuilder r1

Paov --

This past week has been unlike anything we have ever experienced.

Like so many of you, we spent the past week checking on our neighbours, sorting out working-from-home arrangements, providing essential services, and trying to make sense of the daily news updates. We hope you are well and staying safe.

We are all in awe of the people on the front lines working to keep us all safe and healthy. These public healthcare heroes - healthcare workers and support support staff in the hospitals, community and social services workers, lab technicians, pharmacists and first responders - are saving lives every day and deserve a huge thank you from all of us.

You can say a big thank you to our health care workers - first by staying home - but also by cheering them on each evening at 7pm. Applause for Health Care Workers started in Europe and has now spread across Canada. In BC, the residents in Vancouver’s West End led the applause, and it is...

BCSEA and COVID-19

PAOV,

The BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) has been following recent developments regarding the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). As an organization that hosts events or participates in public meetings and other gatherings, involving employees, contractors, members, and volunteers, the BCSEA is mindful of our responsibilities to not contribute to the potential spread of Covid-19.

We will be guided by recommendations and orders issued by the British Columbia Provincial Health Officer. Any changes in BCSEA involvement, either at a provincial or Chapter level, will be determined by these recommendations and orders. The BCSEA notes that the situation changes on a daily, even hourly basis, and as such we will post an update on our website regarding any changes in our involvement.

Effective immediately, the BCSEA is taking the following steps in compliance with the mandatory orders and guidelines of the BC Provincial Health Officer:

  1. Any BCSEA hosted Chapter or Provincial events that will involve 50 or more people are cancelled or suspended until further notice.
  2. Any BCSEA hosted Chapter or Provincial events that will involve less than 50 people will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the...
