The above mentioned photo display, featuring First Nations, South Africa and Palestine, opened last night at the Cedar Hill Rec Centre on Finlayson. It will be up for 2 weeks. The theme is looking at the ways of, and similarities of, dispossession in widely different cultures through time. The photos are quite amazing and evocative.

Just a reminder that Miguel Figueroa, Leader of the Communist Party of Canada, will be arriving in Victoria on Friday, 16 May and will be speaking at the meeting room of the Green Cuisine Restaurant at #5, 560 Johnson Street in Market Square. I know that I said in an earlier e-mail that the event will start at seven o'clock, but we are actually starting at 6:00 PM instead.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

On Tuesday, May 20 you are invited to City Hall* at 12pm (noon) to have your photo taken along with a statement that you create about why SCS is important to you and your community. We have the white board and the marker. Bring yourself and some ideas about the importance of SCS.

The "I support YES2SCS" photo campaign gives members of our community a chance to express why they support SCS in Victoria. These photos will be uploaded to our website and shared through our facebook page and twitter feed to increase awareness of the YES2SCS campaign and the need for SCS in Victoria.

*Let's meet outside the main City Hall doors on the Pandora side. You will see our banner!
