SEA Event: DOOMED SYSTEMS AND BROKEN POLITICS: How do we fix them?

Hi again everyone,

You are invited to a new event, and in spite of short notice, we are hoping it will be of interest for many who can attend. The topic is on systems analysis and our broken politics here in BC and Canada. This will be held on June 24th, at the Fairfield Community Center, at 7pm.

Please RSVP on the Facebook page, if you can.

From the event page:

Colossal issues like global poverty and ecological collapse are threatening human existence; however, finding appropriate solutions is only half the battle. The second, more challenging half is actually implementing the solutions!

Why, throughout history, have humans organized their societies in such ineffective ways? Can we organize our social structures to meet the task of sustainability?

Pamela Schreiner was in the software and telecommunications industry for over 20 years and has also worked as a mathematics teacher overseas. She has been studying organizational structures for quite some time and has cultivated an informed perspective on how we might come together more logically and beneficially. She will provide a historical timeline of human-made structures and cycles of collapse.

Mark McInnes is a political junkie, history grad, and an executive member of both S.E.A. and the Royal Oak Community Association. He will move the discussion into the present setting with an analysis of broken politics in B.C. and Canada. Along with insight into how politics has been gamed, Mark will offer practical solutions. You can't fix what's broken if you cannot clearly see what is happening!
Tea and coffee will be brewing!

August 11 - 15 or August 25 - 29 at Pearkes Rec. Centre

REVIEWS: Understanding Shadows: The Corrupt Use of Intelligence

REVIEWS of UNDERSTANDING SHADOWS: The Corrupt Use of Intelligence / Michael Quilligan

"... Michael Quilligan's focus is on the weapons of mass deception which elites and states use to keep us ignorant. His book is a meticulously researched and corroborated survey of how 'intelligence' is used to hide, distort, and bury the truth of great events, and instead implant a 'version', a narrative, which reflects the requirements of the rulers of the world and serves to conceal reality. Intelligence services and their linked military, criminal, and undercover 'assets', do a lot of things, of which spying is perceived as the most exciting and glamorous. But they do more. For example, they murder. The French secret service's assassination of a Greenpeace photographer in New Zealand is an egregious example, another the almost incessant stream of doorstep killings and public executions by Israel's Mossad. And now we have daily murder by drone and missile on the orders of a former law professor who became President of the United States, carried out from secret bunkers by agents of one or other of the plethora of intelligence agencies which have been so expanded since 9/11 as to constitute a state, an unanswerable state, within a state..."

"The readers of this book should understand that hardly any international crisis happened without the involvement of secret agencies or their shadowy contractors. A stimulating reading matter."
