Paov --
Are you ready to stop Kinder Morgan?
Here are
some ways to get more
involved.
The
PIPE UP Network is continuing our opposition to the Kinder Morgan
Pipeline expansion.
We were excited to hear Attorney
General David Eby’s announcement last week.
We
also know we have to keep doing work on the ground to make sure this
expansion never happens
and we hope you agree!

Dear rabble.ca visitors:
In an increasingly connected world, our economic and political realities here in Canada have a direct effect on the livelihoods of communities both at home and abroad. As social justice-minded citizens of Canada and of the world, I (and I’m confident you) believe that we have a critical role to respond to some of the greatest challenges we are facing today worldwide, including war, poverty, and other forms of socio economic injustice.

The Rebel's bad day

Your pressure worked! Conservative leader Andrew Scheer has spoken out against Rebel Media.
After dodging reporters for days, Scheer finally made a statement against the far-right website after I confronted him at a BBQ in Langley.
In an exclusive video shot last night, Scheer tells me that “anything that gives a platform to those types of obnoxious groups is certainly worth condemnation”. The same night, he told CBC News he would no longer grant interviews to The Rebel.[1-2]
Your pressure forced Scheer to take a stand. His statement comes after over 16,000 of you, including over 1400 Conservatives, signed a petition calling on the Conservative Party to distance themselves from The Rebel in the wake of the far-right website’s highly sympathetic coverage of white supremacy rallies in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Now, with a chorus of high-profile Conservatives including Scheer speaking out against The Rebel, the website could be close to collapse. One last push might be enough to shut them down for good. But with racist hate groups popping up all across the country it’s going to take more that shutting down one website to stamp out white supremacy.
So what do you think? Should Leadnow keep campaigning to challenge white supremacy in Canada?
YES - Focus on white supremacy more broadly

Capitalism: What's the Alternative?
Monday, August 28th, 2017 4:00pm – 8:30pm
Okay so maybe this sounds really intense because capitalism is an economic system we live within - so to be clear this workshop is focused on exploring and seeking to understand the ways in which this economic system affects us, as young people, particularly in regards to competition. Why do we feel like we have to compete with our peers, and where does this feeling stem from? What are the consequences of competition - how does it impact our lives - and what alternatives can we shift toward? Join us in a new workshop topic never offered before (by PeerNetBC) as we reflect on our own experiences and learn from each other.

Will you sign the petition calling on the BC government to refuse to sign the provincial permits Kinder Morgan needs to build their pipeline?
Kinder Morgan plans to start construction of their dangerous tar sands pipeline and tanker project this September -- but if we act fast we can stop them.
The new BC government has promised to “use every tool available” to stop the pipeline, and if they refuse to grant provincial permits required for construction it could derail Kinder Morgan’s plans. [1]
