The PIPE UP Network is organizing teams of people from different cities to keep a watch on Kinder Morgan.
We learned recently of their blatant disregard for rules when they installed anti-spawning nets in areas they want the pipeline expansion will go.
This re-enforces the need for us to keep an eye on them, and to report if we see any activity.
We have three meetings coming up for those who want to help with their eyes on the ground.
October 2 @ 7pm - Langley @ Windsong Co-housing (may have to park up/across the street)
October 4 @ 5:30 - Surrey @ Central City Library Room 402
October 10 @ 6:30 - Abbotsford/Chilliwack @ Clearbrook Library- front room
We also just had two successful de-escalation workshops in Langley and Chilliwack. We have heard that there is a need/desire for a legal workshop, so we will work on putting one together in the near...

FILM SCREENING:
The Stairs
A FILM BY HUGH GIBSON
The Stairs tells the story of Marty, Greg and Roxanne, each of whom survived decades of street-involvement. Using their experiences to ease the paths of others, each performs social work in their old neighbourhood, while struggling to maintain their newly-found stability. Told over five years, The Stairs is a non-judgemental character study of life on society’s margins. Defying stereotypes through intimate portraits, its remarkable subjects are by turns surprising, funny, shocking and moving.

Rumours are circulating that the Liberals are planning to backtrack on some of their proposed tax reforms because of the Conservatives’ relentless, misleading and at times blatantly false attacks [1].
Let’s be clear: these attacks are not about saving the family farm or helping small business. Conservatives are fighting to preserve tax loopholes for the wealthiest Canadians. We need to stand up for tax reform, or else the Liberals will back off and that could kill tax reform for years to come.
The Canadian Federation of Independent Business started a petition opposing the reforms and has about 15,000 signatures. Already over 9,000 of us have signed this open letter, but we need you to add your name so we can show the Liberals that the numbers are on our side.
Supa, will you add your name to the open letter now?
Let’s speak up now in defence of a just economy where everyone pays their fair share.
Stand up for Canada's wild

PAOV --
Since 2006 The Canadian Youth Climate Coalition has mobilized and supported young people in Canada to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our generation - the climate crisis. Over the past 10 years, we’ve seen how the youth climate justice movement has changed and grown, and we think this is the perfect time for a conversation about the future of this movement of movements.
Join the CYCC over the next month for a series of conversations about the needs, wants, values, identities and principles of the youth climate justice movement in ‘Canada’ and help shape a new support structure for the youth climate justice movement. We want to hear from you about your experience in the youth climate justice movement, so here are some opportunities to connect with us:
Help shape the future of our movement by filling out this survey.
