A time of monsters

Things feel fragile right now. Nuclear war could be on the horizon. Far-right extremism is on the rise. Climate change threatens our survival.

And yet in this year alone -- women have led a powerful movement to challenge the culture of sexual assault. The call for tax fairness has dominated the news, and renewable energy is growing faster than the fossil fuel industry.

It feels like we’re poised on the edge between our deepest dreams and oldest fears. We face a choice – to rise to this moment, or let it fall.

Will we rise?

It might depend, in part, on us. The Leadnow community is 400,000-strong -- we’re larger than most of the political parties. We know what we want. A country where the super-rich pay their fair share. An energy revolution that doesn’t include pipelines and coal plants. Politics that involves everyone.

But it’s not going to be easy. We’re up against cashed-up corporate lobbyists who’ll do anything to defend their profits, and organized far-right groups who want to silence our movement.

If we’re going to stand up to the billionaire corporations and far-right politicians, we need to make our movement bigger, stronger, and more connected than ever. So, what do you say, will you chip in $5 now to help us rise to this moment?

Paov, let's build for 2018

NationBuilder r1

Dear Paov --

2017 has been a phenomenal year.

Together, we worked really hard to ensure your public health care priorities were front and centre during the provincial election.

This past year you won commitments to

  • scrap unfair MSP fees

  • ensure seniors care homes are properly staffed

  • increase community-based multi-disciplinary primary health car

Not to mention, we also staved off private for-profit plasma collection in B.C. (for now), fought Brian Day’s attack on public health care in court, and exposed illegal billing in B.C.’s for-profit clinics.

We can't do this work without your support. Donate $20, $50, or $100 today.

Stand against the US immoral move to recognize Jerusalem as

the capital of the Zionist state of Israel

Join us at:

2pm Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Cenotaph in front of the Legislature

(corner of Belleville & Government)

Once again the United States has violated the mandate of the UN, the multiple resolutions issued for more than six decades, the right of the heroic Palestinian people and International Law, by designating the city of Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist state of Israel and move the headquarters of the US embassy to that city.

This unilateral, arbitrary and colonial declaration will raise the tensions in the Middle East to an unprecedented degree and in fact represents a...
