URGENT: Site C decision
- Details
- Published on Thursday, 07 December 2017 14:18

We're hearing speculation that the government is going to vote this week to allow Site C dam to go forward. The only way to stop it now is with a flood of public pressure. Can you send a message to your MLA and key Site C decision-makers asking them to say no to Site C?
Rumours are flying around that BC NDP cabinet ministers are finalizing their decision on Site C this week. And pundits are speculating that the government is planning to allow the dam to go forward. [1-2]
The only way to stop it now is with a last-minute flood of public pressure, bigger than this government has ever seen.
The NDP know that if they’re going to be reelected, they can’t afford to lose the support of progressive voters -- and that means that your voice has power.
If an unprecedented number of us flood the government with messages in this final moment, it could tip the scales and push the government to cancel the project.

Dear PAOV,
As we move in to the holiday period we often take stock of the year that has passed and our hopes for the year that is to come. Here in British Columbia we have seen the sustainable energy industry continue to grow and with the election of a new Provincial Government we hope that 2018 will see it continue to advance and strengthen.
The BCSEA is entering in to the New Year with a renewed focus and purpose and we hope that 2018 will be period of growth for the organization. After 13 years as a not-for-profit the BCSEA is today a registered charity and we are excited for the opportunities that are now open to us as we work to advance the adoption of sustainable energy solutions. This fantastic achievement would not have been possible without...

How? Accept funding from governments and big business.
These days many charities do that all too readily.
But we won’t. We value our independence too much, and we know that money always comes with strings attached.
Our target is to raise $15,000/ £12,000 – will you help us reach it? Actor Jerome Flynn, aka Bronn from Game of Thrones, has generously promised to gift match any sum we raise up to $15,000, so your donation will be doubled – ethically – at no additional cost to you, and at no risk to Survival's independence.
Please donate to Survival to keep our voice strong and free →

Building on the momentum created during our federal campaign, we have an incredible opportunity coming up in British Columbia - the outcome of which will make a huge impact on our federal campaign in 2019.
Just twelve months from now, a year ahead of the next federal election, BC will be holding its third referendum on proportional representation.
With only 12 months to sway the hearts and minds of BC voters, the BC Liberal Party is gearing up quickly for a full-out attack on proportional representation.
Can you chip in to help the BC Fair Vote Canada campaign win the PR referendum?
This week, BC Liberal leadership candidate Dianne Watts made a shocking, yet crystal clear, public statement about their priorities:

Come and be part of our journey! Let’s pull together to restore the Circle of Life.
AIR is made up of communities and peoples who are passionate about the revitalization of Indigenous, and interconnected ways of being, and see them as a response to the individualism and consumerism that is wiping away life. The purpose of this campaign is to allow for more communities and more people to have access to the resilient traditions of our older generations through the creation of Intergenerational Resilience (IGR) Hubs.
We live in times of profound intergenerational and interspecies disconnection. Indigenous & intergenerational knowledge transmission are critical to addressing this crisis. The Alliance for Intergenerational Resilience (AIR) and collaborators are seeding 7 intergenerational resilience hubs across Turtle Island (Canada) and internationally with Indigenous and settler communities, as a way of remaking and healing these vital life-giving connections. A global exchange of intergenerational learnings will complete our project. Today we are witness to many, acts which break or threaten the circle of life. Come, be part of a community that is working to rebuild and renew this sacred circle.
