Poverty reduction is health justice

Dear Paov --
B.C. is the only province without a Poverty Reduction Plan.
As of May 2016, inequality in B.C. was the highest in Canada and increasing at a faster rate than most other provinces. [1] This is completely unacceptable.
Click here to take action on poverty reduction.
But we know that reducing poverty
and inequality can save lives, improve health
outcomes, and save
billions in
health care spending.
During the provincial election, thousands of you stood up and helped elect a government on a public health care mandate including a strong commitment to implement a Poverty Reduction Plan....
Urgent: We're almost there! A win for PR in BC would be a win for all of us.

Dear Fair Vote Canada BC supporters,
Since last week, over 200 of you have chipped in to help us hire BC Organizer - amazing! With the matching contributions that we have been promised, that takes us to $24,000 in all - 2/3 of the way to our goal.
These funds are what will allow our campaign to get off to a strong start! Showing that we are already well organized and self-starting will help show that we are serious!
Can you help us get to the home stretch and start reaching BC voters at the door?
We need staff in BC's Lower Mainland URGENTLY. See the job description here.
The most outspoken opponents of proportional representation from the BC Liberal Party have declared that defeating PR is their "number one priority" and this campaign is "the fight of their lives." Which candidate is best poised to lead their war against effective votes - so the BC Liberals can obtain more false majorities with first-past-the-post - has become a key issue in their leadership race. According to Dianne Watts, members must have two questions for each contender:
"Can you win the next election and can you defeat the referendum on proportional representation? If we do not defeat this referendum, there will be no majority, there will be forever a minority of BC Liberals."

Tim Hortons

Greedy Tim Hortons bosses are stripping back employee health benefits to pay for the new $15 minimum wage in Ontario.
This is outrageous behaviour — but with enough pressure from customers across the country, it can be stopped in its tracks.
Sign the petition calling on Tim Hortons owners to stop their cruel cuts to workers.
I’m outraged. Billionaire Tim Hortons bosses are slashing workers’ healthcare benefits, stealing their tips, and eliminating paid breaks — and we can’t let them get away with it.
It all started when Ontario’s minimum wage increase kicked in last week. In a fit of revenge, Tim Hortons owners decided to hit their employees with cruel cuts in benefits to protect their profits.[1]
Now the story is blowing up in the media, and if we can show Tim Hortons just how angry their customers are, it could convince them to reverse their cruel cuts.

Dear Paov --
Thank you!
Starting today, unfair MSP fees will be reduced by 50% because of you. You raised your voice with thousands of others for fairness and affordability. And it’s working.
Hooray! Click here to send an email to the government to show your support for this move.
During the provincial election, you made it clear that the government needs to eliminate unfair MSP premiums and advance a clear plan to integrate these fees into British Columbia’s regular income tax system.
And the new government listened to you.
So how much is the
MSP fee cut?
Individuals will...
