Subject: Sanctuary City Public InfoRMation Night!
Hello All:
This Wednesday, 20th January at 5:30 pm we are part of the public information night to begin the public dialogue for a Sanctuary City designation. This VIRCS-founded effort is happening thanks to Councillor Jeremy Loveday who has been amazing in carrying the issue and creating the event (months of planning). There will be a panel of speaking (VIRCS staff and others) hosted by CBC Radio’s Gregor Cragie as well as some exciting special guests performers and motivators. ICA has offered to assist by organizing the world cafe session after the panel so participants can forward questions, concerns and inspirations to further the development of the initiative.
Will you please share this as widely as you are able and possibly attend?

This week, the provincial and territorial health ministers
are meeting in Vancouver.
This is the first time the
Health Ministers have met since a new federal government was elected
last year. It is an important opportunity to ask the Health
Ministers to "put the heart back in health care" so that our
public system stays public and improves to serve everyone
better.
Public health care advocates from across the country
are taking action this Wednesday and we need your help! We
want to know what you'd say to the Health
Ministers.
Please help us get your message to the
Health Ministers by doing 2 things:
-
Send us your Hopes for Health Care using this online form.
- We'll display your message in a public art display on Wednesday, January 20, and deliver your messages to the ministers on Thursday, January 21....

Dear Paov --
The public outcry about B.C.’s unfair MSP premiums is
growing [1].
Will you join us in sending a letter to B.C.'s
government asking them to end the province's most regressive
tax?
B.C. is the only province in Canada that still charges a flat rate health tax. This means that families who make $30,000 annually pay the same rate as families who make over a million dollars annually [2].
The B.C. government is just weeks away from...
