Omar tells the story of its titular character; a young Palestinian working as a baker who joins the freedom fight against the common enemy along with two of his childhood friends but is apprehended after the killing of an Israeli soldier at a military base. Tricked into confessing his association in the act and facing a lifetime sentence, his only way out is to work as an informant for the Israeli police.

Happy New Year!!! The Community Social Planning Council
(CSPC) is recruiting volunteers to take part in a count of people experiencing
homelessness in Greater Victoria on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. This
count is dependent on volunteer participation and it is estimated that we will

BCSEA is now setting up workshops for our Climate Change Showdown program’s 10th year of educating grade 4 to 7 students and their families on climate science and energy conservation and efficiency. Since 2006 the program has reached over 60,000 students, in more than 2,400 classrooms in 15 different municipalities across BC, and has resulted in measurable greenhouse gas reductions of over 42,000 tonnes through participation in an energy conservation challenge.

Can You Visit Your MP About Proportional Representation between Jan 2 and 25?

Thanks to the hard work of all of you, our new government has promised to make 2015 the last first-past-the-post election.
The Liberals campaigned on a promise to set up an all-party committee to study and consult Canadians about ranked ballots, proportional representation, mandatory voting and online voting, and to introduce legislation for electoral reform less than 15 months from today.
Our window of opportunity to influence our MPs is now!
Can you help us by visiting your MP about PR between January 2 and 25, while MPs are in their home ridings?

The year 2015 will be remembered as the year that Palestinian popular resistance spread across historic Palestine and that saw tens of thousands of Palestinians take to the streets to resist and confront Israel’s regime of occupation, settler-colonialism and apartheid.
Ten years since the launch of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, 2015 was also a landmark year for BDS, as our detailed round-up of the year shows.
To all of the amazing people whose commitment and tireless efforts are making this happen: thank you. Our collective achievements inspire us, motivate us and give us hope.
Let’s continue to build our movement in support of Palestinian freedom, justice and equality.
1. We showed our movement can have a real...
